The Character Newsletter September 2025

As we begin this exciting new academic year at Wrotham School, we are delighted to welcome both returning families and those joining us for the first time. We are proud of the strong sense of community that defines our school, and we look forward to working in partnership with you to ensure your child has a happy, successful, and enriching year ahead.

This year brings with it a renewed focus on the amazing opportunities available to all students — from a wide range of enrichment clubs, workshops, and trips, to exciting classroom experiences and pathways for leadership, creativity, and personal growth. We believe school should be a place where every young person not only learns, but flourishes.

At the heart of our vision is the belief that each student follows their own C.O.U.R.S.E. — a journey shaped by Character, Opportunities, Understanding, Respect, Success and Excellence. These values guide everything we do and help our students to develop the skills and attributes they need to thrive both in school and beyond.

We are especially excited to launch our new Character Pathway, a structured and aspirational framework that celebrates the development of each student’s personal character. Through this, students can earn recognition and rewards as they demonstrate our school values.

Alongside this, we are proud to introduce P.A.T.H. — a new supportive behaviour system that stands for Pause, Adjust, Take Action, and Housing. It gives every student two clear opportunities to reflect and reset their behaviour before a consequence is applied, helping to reinforce positive choices while maintaining a calm and focused learning environment. This system works hand-in-hand with our commitment to restorative conversations and relationships, helping students grow in confidence, responsibility, and respect for others.

Together, these changes reflect our unwavering commitment to character, consistency, and care. Thank you for your continued support — we look forward to celebrating your child’s successes and progress in the year ahead.
