Wrotham School celebrates exceptionally strong GCSE results

Wrotham School is celebrating exceptionally strong GCSE results, placing Wrotham firmly in its position as one of the highest-performing non-selective schools in Kent.

Students achieved strong outcomes across the curriculum, with particularly impressive performances in English and Mathematics and at the highest GCSE grades.

More students achieved strong passes in both English and Mathematics, while the proportion securing the highest GCSE grades also increased. There was further improvement in the number of students achieving strong results across five or more subjects, including English and Mathematics.

Strong performances and improvements were recorded across a wide range of curriculum areas, including Chemistry, Design Technology, English, History, ICT, Mathematics, Physics, Science and Spanish.

The results come at a particularly exciting time for Wrotham School. Students are now benefiting from the school’s new build and state-of-the-art facilities, providing an outstanding modern environment for teaching, learning and wider school life.

Alongside this investment, record numbers of students are choosing to continue into Wrotham School Sixth Form. The growth of post-16 provision reflects the confidence students and families continue to place in the school and means that an increasing number of young people are choosing to remain part of the Wrotham community beyond Year 11.

“We are enormously proud of our students. They have worked incredibly hard and these exceptionally strong results are a testament to their determination, ambition and resilience.

“We are particularly pleased with the strength of outcomes across the school, including in English and Mathematics, at the highest grades and across the wider curriculum. These results reinforce Wrotham’s position as one of Kent’s highest-performing non-selective schools.

“This is also an incredibly exciting time for Wrotham. Our students are benefiting from our fantastic new school building and state-of-the-art facilities, while record numbers are choosing to continue their education with us in the sixth form.

“What matters most today, however, are the individual young people behind these results. There are some wonderful personal achievements within this year group, and it has been a privilege to see our students reach this important milestone.”

Students will now progress to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and other post-16 opportunities, with a significant number remaining at Wrotham to continue their studies.
