The Character Newsletter February 2026

We reflect on Term 3 with a strong sense of pride in our students and the character they continue to demonstrate in every aspect of school life.

An incredible 25,301 character strengths were recognised and achieved by our students. This remarkable number represents thousands of positive daily choices. From small acts of respect in the classroom to significant personal milestones, our students continue to embody the values that shape our school community.

Academically, Term 3 has been a focused and purposeful period. Our Sixth Form students approached their Pre-Public Examinations (PPEs) with maturity and determination, demonstrating both independence and commitment as they prepare for the next stage of their journey. Meanwhile, Year 11 began their own PPEs, taking important steps toward their GCSEs with resilience and growing confidence. We are proud of the dedication shown by all students during this demanding time.

Beyond the classroom, enrichment has remained at the heart of our provision. Three trips and two enrichment walks provided opportunities for students to broaden their horizons, build friendships and develop confidence in new environments. During National Apprenticeship Week, students engaged with valuable information about future pathways, gaining insight into the diverse opportunities available to them beyond school.

As we begin Term 4, excitement is already building. The term has begun with our Ski Trip to Italy, the first of six trips planned, offering adventure, challenge and unforgettable memories. We will also celebrate World Book Day, championing reading for pleasure and the power of stories, alongside our annual Careers Fair, where students can explore aspirations and begin shaping their futures with confidence.

Term 4 promises to be busy, inspiring and full of opportunity. Together, we will continue to nurture character, celebrate success and encourage every student to strive for excellence in all that they do.
