Assessment and Reporting at Wrotham School
At Wrotham School students are assessed at regular intervals called semesters, please see the calendar below for details.
At the end of each semester, students will receive a progress report that is uploaded to the parent portal area of our school website. This personalised report will show information on the students progress in all subjects alongside target grades and an attitude to learning score. The attitude to learning score from 1-4 represents their effort, commitment and hard work.
In years 7 and 8 students will receive a record of their progress in each of the attainment bands; at GCSE students will receive information on their progress towards GCSE grades (A-G). The report will also indicate if the student is at the top, middle or bottom of each grade or band.
The skills required in years 7 and 8 to meet each band are detailed below, by subject. Details of student progress for each band is marked and recorded in the front of their full report once per year in which the community group leader and the leadership team write a detailed review of the students’ progress. The detailed report is followed immediately by a parents evening, allowing you to discuss the details of this review with each of your child’s subject teachers. The calendar of key dates can be found below.
